A 'Stiff' Thanks
Playing to a large and appreciative audience, 'Stiff Luv' celebrated a very successful Canadian premier last month, and a blast of a celebration party afterwards. Definitely Canadian cinema of a different flavour, they've been picking up awards all over the international circuit for many months now.
A comedy of errors harkening back to the days of all male theatre, with a cross dressing and decidely gay ensemble obsessively focused on the movie's title throughout its, uh, length, I can certainly see why this film would appeal to some, depending on their taste. 'Stiff Luv' comes across as user-friendly, upbeat and more than a little 'off the wall'; with first rate costuming and appropriately cast men whose womanly mannerisms are bang on and over the top.
'Stiff Luv' may not be everybodies 'cup of tea', but kickin death in the pants while laughing seems a worthwhile endeavor, and who doesn't love seeing men in drag? www.adriankeats.com
