Interior Design Show- aMuse
IDS09 was the stylish name for the 2009 Interior Design Show held recently at the Direct Energy Centre, Exhibition Place. Prior to the public opening, an evening preview called "aMuse" was given to benefit the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation and offer supporters a first look at more than 30 of Canada's most influencial designers presenting their boundary-pushing installations, exhibits and concept spaces. The flashy "5X5: 5 Designers, 5 Inspired Spaces" really impressed me. One moment you are in a brilliant futuristic crystal space, then you enter a vintage travel trailer with 1970's shag carpet. What a look back that was! Where's my 8-track?
Throw in some fabulous bartenders at the Grand Marnier Red Lounge, along with delicious offerings to satisfy lovers of oysters and noodles, and you can tell that everyone at this opening night party had a 'sizzling' time!
