2008 July > Small Press Book Fair

Hearing about it quite by accident, and at the very last moment to boot, I rushed over for the last 45 minutes of this event only to find many a daring folk making their publishing dreams come true. From self-made poetry books to first time novels, great independent magazines, and even two lovely little girls publishing and selling their very first comics strip. Shows there is really no excuse to not follow your creative dreams, baby! If you really desire something, and your heart says go - don't be a shmoe! You can make it happen. Believe it. These people proved that to me. Of the many books of note, Kevin Fortnum's 'Defamation of a Scoundrel' a poetic novel, is one that I picked up and am currently enjoying reading and Indika Kottegoda's poetry book, 'An Elephant in the Room' is next on my list. Hope to see your book soon.
