ReelHeART International Film Festival, celebrated its 2008 version with a 'delicious' launch on June 16. The opening party was held at Southern Accent Restaurant, 595 Markham St. (those hush-puppies were fantastic!). Full to the brim with independant filmmakers, directors and producers of some of the best films I've seen in along time. I was especially moved by the many heart-felt and truly 'human' documentaries it was my pleasure to see. They may have had small budgets but that didn't seem to stop anyone from making quality work. Thanks again for the experience.
Tariq Nasir, was proud to discuss his doc. 'Belonging'...about his experience as a Palestinian refugee.
Thomas Florek, produced and directed 'JackStock'. What really is 'success' in music?
Kimberley Lee, A.K. Lakhoo and Ismay Pascall...super-nice volunteers.
Travis Laurendine and Casey Preskitt...and their doc. 'Standup', the open mic road trip.
