2008 July > Hats Off to Millinery

I never would have guessed that when I signed up for the Millinery class at George Brown College that it would change my life. It sure helps to have a wonderfully knowledgeable teacher encourage you in your own expression. Hats off to Lori Bond who did just that, and really so much more. Hats are great because they can be so colourful, and they make powerful personal statements, and they really top off an outfit like you wouldn't believe. Hats can be bold and daring, they can be simple and small, or grand and decorative. It really is all up to the imagination. I loved going to class to see what everyone was working on and to admire the results of such creativity. Each hat stood proudly in it's own unique design. It was a wonderful experience to be witness (and to participate!) in this form of self-expression. What a fantastic medium! So elegant and versatile. So much to discover about oneself. I have a new passion in my life and am excited to get started on my next hat! You can find out more about Millinery at George Brown under continuing education on their website.
