2008 July > Annex and Mirvish Village June is definitely the beginning of street-festival season in Toronto. As streets closed to cars and opened up to pedestrian life, the added space does wonders for everyone's enjoyment, a little open air market commerce, crafts, creations, and simple neighborly exercise was good for everyone involved. Sure it creates traffic jams, and some unhappy 'horn-beepers', but it seems to me it's the way it was meant to be. Room for leisurely strolls, where children can play, new friends can be made and people from all over the world can come and see what makes Toronto and it's people friendly. The next time you see a street closed, try to get out and enjoy yourself...you never know, next month it may be your smiling face we all see in Snap Downtown Toronto.
