2010 Toronto International Boat Show
The official launch of the 2010 summer boating season got underway with the arrival of the 52nd Annual Toronto International Boat Show (January 9-17), held at the Direct Energy Centre on the CNE grounds.
More than 1,000 boats and hundreds of booths showcasing the newest boating products, accessories and services were on exhibit. The show has become Canada’s largest and most popular boating marketplace, and featured everything new in boating from paddles to super cruisers - from $1 items to boats that range in the millions! Back again was the ever popular world’s largest indoor recreational boating lake at the Ricoh Coliseum, containing more than a million gallons, and taking more than 3 days to create, novice and experienced boaters got their feet wet by taking advantage of free boat rides from Discover Boating in canoes, kayaks, paddleboats, and for the first time, inflatable boats. The Lake also featured spectacular wakeboarding demonstrations from the pros, boat handling demonstrations and more.
The 2010 show also featured Toronto's Diane Reid and her 'One Girl's Ocean Challenge' where she will be participating in the France to Brazil transatlantic Mini Transat 650 for single-handled yachts - a race of over 4,000 Miles across the Atlantic Ocean!
It was great fun checking out all the fantastic new boats and meeting the great people on hand to share their knowledge and experience. Thanks for letting us SNAP away, and be sure to check out our website at www.snapdowntowntoronto.com for the rest of the great photos we took.
