Highland dancers Adele Campbell and Jody Whitfield from the Scottish Dance Company

TASTING TO SALUTE ROBBIE BURNS' BIRTHDAY

The Summerhill LCBO, located at 10 Scrivener Square, hosted this amazing event in celebration of Scotland’s favourite son, poet and lyricist Robbie Burns on Saturday, January 23th. Consumers were welcomed to sample single malt Scotch whisky and haggis while enjoying spirited Highland dancing to celebrate his 251st birthday!

Piper Jack Jackson, attired as Robbie Burns, paraded the haggis into the Summerhill store’s event kitchen and recited the poet’s immortal, ‘Address to the Haggis.’ Immediately following, champion Highland dancers Adele Campbell and Jody Whitfield from the Scottish Dance Company performed traditional Scottish flings, jigs and reels. Bowmore Islay 12-Year-Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky and Auchentoshan 12-Year-Old Triple Distilled Lowland Single Malt Scotch Whisky were featured at the tasting along with samples of haggis, the traditional Scottish dish served at Robbie Burns’ celebrations. Thanks to Chris Layton from the LCBO for the invite!
